Guys! Gals! Can a girl get an AMEN?
My freshly-designed duo of websites are locked, loaded & live!
Epic, unlimited, slightly-innappropriate amounts of gratitude goes to REBECCA POLLOCK (my gracious graphic designer) and CATHERINE VO (my coder extraordinaire).
Rebecca and Catherine have been slaving away for months, and acting like my aesthetic micromanaging was totally normal (“Oh, you want the leaping unicorn to be turquoise, instead of teal? And a millimeter to the left? Suuure, no problem”).
Go ahead and scamper around my core site & revamped blog. I’ve got one or two wording changes and mini-edits to make (forever refining, onward & upward) but I’m sure you’ll agree that both destinations are gorgeous. Highly-functional. Elegantly interconnected. And straight-up HAWT.
Coming your way in the very near future:
:: New headshots (fuh-fuh-FINALLY)!
:: A handful of fresh & affordable digital products.
:: An enhanced newsletter (get subscribed on mah homepage).
:: Birthday surprises (I’m turning 26 in a fortnight).
:: And more of the queer savoir faire, entrepreneurial crackling, righteous lifescripts and cutting comebacks you’ve come to expect here at Unicorns For Socialism.
Now, go have yourself a gratitude-soaked Thanksgiving, tell yo’ momma you love her, hug a stranger on the bus, snarf some pie, and buy yourself a bottle of your chosen signature scent.

I seriously love it, ladyfriend. It’s you – distilled and streamlined into code. Happy Thanksgiving. Hope it includes lotsa cranberries, stuffing and pie.
It looks fantastic. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
OMG I EFFIN’ LOVE IT. <3 It is so fitting and so clean! Wow! <3 <3 <3
Loving the new look. What a way to bring in 2011 fresh!
Squeeee!!! Your blog and main website look absolutely fantastic!!!! The unicorns look majestic!! I wish you and your loved ones the merriest of Thanksgivings!!
Old design sed: “comfy, lived-in apartment circa junior year.”
New design sez: “bitchin’ together bachelorette (and lovin’ it) pad, circa three months into my life-changing feast of a fulfilling career.”
tl;dr: loved it, but love it present-tense even more.
Wow the new site looks INCREDIBLE!! I need to find a web designer who can help me figure out how to make my one look good too… if you know of anyone with rates that accomodate unemployed artists…?
KYLIE :: My Thanksgiving included LOTS of cranberries, stuffing and pie…and, um, tequila. My dad is a rebel!
TARA MELISSA :: Thanks, doll!
HAVANA :: “Fitting and clean” is the name o’ the game!
NATANYA :: So fresh and so clean, clean.
KYLIE :: Oh, majestic unicorns are mandatory, in my world!
MISH :: Well said. Movin’ on up …
S. ORCHARD :: I’d recommend buying a “premium” WordPress theme (they cost an average of $25 to $250 a pop) and then DIY-ing your design. Alternately, you could contact a local web design student (at the uni?) and propose a barter-exchange. You do custom comic portraits & avatars, and swap for HTML / CSS coding support…bam! Done.
Thanks for all the mushy website love, peeps!
I LOVE the makeover. It’s so festive and fun and funky and it really reflects your personality (so did your old site too). It’s hugely inspirational to me since I’m in the process of launching my own design studio and building my website. Thanks for sharing yourself with us, love your refreshing and quirky attitude!
