Build Your Priority Pyramid

Did any of y’all attend the Women Entrepreneurs for Women Entrepreneurs webinar back on November 3rd? The one MC’d by Robert Dempsey of Life of the Freelancer?

If you did, you woulda seen my shiny mug jabbering about “pro bono burnout” (a topic I’ve explored quite a bit lately).

During my presentation, which kicked off the 2-hour webinar, I mentioned something called a Priority Pyramid. Wazzat? A simple diagram that spells out your primary revenue streams and helps you prioritize your energy appropriately. Where’d it come from? I mind-birthed it during a coaching session with Michelle Ward.

Sound nice? You wanna see it? Yeah?

It’s all yours.

DOWNLOAD THE PRIORITY PYRAMID HERE.

Step 1: Right-click & save it like you mean it.
You might need to zoom out. It’s a big ‘un.

Step 2: Cruel & Effective Homework Assignment.
Make a list of your current Base Clients, Second-Tier Clients, Third-Tier Clients, and Pro Bono Commitments. Are you overloaded, like a mofo? Do you need more juice in one tier, and less in another? Ink it out. Figure it out. And adjust your workload accordingly.

You’re welcome.

DYANA: I’ve heard of Ms. Hogshead, but never scoped her out. Obviously, I oughta. Grazie mille!

BRIDGET: Practical simplicity (with a splash of sequins) is what I strive for! Glad you dig it.

  5. Yeah we did! Dirty mind-birthing. Well, not really, but it sounds it!

You’re awesome for putting it out there. Also, for alliterating. So, awesome alliteration for the Priority Pyramid.

Can you tell it’s time for bed?

  6. I attended the webinar! About to look at pyramid now, but yes, I also love alliteration (can you tell?!)

i love stuff like this. i read a bazillion marketing books, and whenever i see something like this, i’m always floored at how simple and practical it sounds, yet i never seem to put it into practice. if you can figure out a way to teach THAT part, i’ll buy all the books you ever write. (upfront!)

REEREE :: Alliterations always excel at activating awesomeness!

SHAWN :: Damn! A challenge! I gotta write some books. I’ll put you on my pre-order list. ;)
