This week, I’m marveling at my talented friends and colleagues, the abundance of creativity on the Internet (and the world at large) and the myriad joys of owning an espresso machine.
More specifically, I love:
{ My co-worker Jacquie Fuller’s lovely site: How I Found You. Folks can submit first-person stories about how they met their boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, partner, BFF, beloved puppy, etc. She’s looking for new submissions, so get cracking! Typey type type! }
{ Jacquie’s side project, My Year in Waiters — which is exactly what it sounds like. }
{ Taking an afternoon off for various doctor’s appointments (don’t worry, kids — just checkups!) instead of trying to cram them into the 8 am hour, before work. Much better to simply use my accrued sick leave time (that’s what it’s there for, right?) and see my docs at sensible hours. }
{ My upcoming life coaching session with Michelle Ward of When I Grow Up. She offers free, 30-minute phone sessions … which is such a generous deal, I actually feel a bit guilty for partaking. My session is tonight at 8 pm! Glee! }
{ Transferring all my data from my old, busted laptop to my new, crazy-sexy-cool laptop! I love my new computer so much, it’s probably illegal in every state, except Vermont. }
{ Trying my very first cheeseball! If I wasn’t a legal resident of the state of Minnesota before, I most certainly am now. }
{ The Australian Showtime TV series, Satisfaction. A show about high-class prostitutes (!) in Melbourne (!!) featuring a lesbian (!!!) dominatrix (!!!!)? God bless you, Netflix. }
{ Feasting upon salad, hummus, grapes and assorted rolls with three of favorite ladies. We talked about dating (consensus: it sucks!), shared secrets (well, I did) and drank sparkling wine (classy!). It was like Sex in the (Twin) City. }
{ This video of an obese Japanese cat eating dinner. I generally have zero interest in videos of cats doing amusing stuff, because it reminds me how allergic I am, and then I get phantom hives. But this video is freaking hilarious. I’ve watched it about eight times. }
{ Brainstorming podcast concepts with Anna. Our podcast is destined to be a total revelation of distilled excellence. }
{ Dying my hair “Chocolate Cherry No. 36″ using a box of L’Oreal Feria Multi-faceted Shimmering Color Gel. My hair was vaguely reddish before, so this treatment merely intensified the color. I love getting my hair professionally dyed at the salon more than anything in the universe, but for all-over color boosts, you just can’t beat an $8 box of drugstore dye. }
{ All the exciting work opportunities in my immediate future! Everything is still rather nebulous (read: waiting for me to apply some energy and focus) but my gut instinct is that 2010 will be a VERY good year. }

Q: How glad am I that I Google Alert myself & found your blog today, Alexandra?
A: Very glad!
So excited to be connecting tonight! And you’re not taking advantage of nothin’ that I don’t want you to be taking advantage of! That’s what she said :)

Fargo didn’t make the list?! I’m surprised you didn’t watch it while eating the massive cheeseball since you’re a total Minnesotan now. Initiation complete.

Michelle: That’s what she said, indeed! Can’t wait to talk tonight …
Annika: Oh Lord in Heaven above, how could I forget “FARGO”?!? I think I actually DID eat a hunk of cheeseball while I watched it. Perfection.

I can’t wait to see the new hair color! This is a particularly excellent TILT, in my opinion.
