“Things I Love Thursday” was originated by one of my all-time favorite Internet personalities, Gala Darling.

Society places so much emphasis upon what we suck at, and very little upon what we excel at.  Taking a few moments each week to compile a list of things that make you smile, chortle, dance about in your booty shorts or wriggle in delight is a valuable emotional exercise

{ Counting down the days until my Lasik Plus vision correction surgery … finally, the 15+ year long tyranny of spectacles will end! }

{ Officially launching my (other) website: The Uncommon Cube. }

{ This inspirational laundry room, which makes my basement hovel look like a bomb shelter. }

{ The season finale of True Blood … just a few days away! }

{ Gorgeous (& free!) website / desktop background patterns from Squidfingers. }

{ Stumbling across this delicate, fairy-like blog. The author’s Flickr photostream is equally enchanting. }

{ Making homemade tomato sauce with six ingredients: heirloom tomatoes, garlic, onion, basil, olive oil and red wine. }

{ The amusing reactions I get from people upon revealing that I don’t (GASP!) use Facebook. It’s as if I’d declared, “I don’t believe in currency” or “I’m an ex-convict.” Shock, horror, disbelief, etc. }

{ Eating maraschino cherries straight from the jar at 2 AM, and enjoying that blissful moment where you realize that you’re an adult and you can do whatever the hell you want! }
